Web Friend makes websites for small businesses. This page says what we collect, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how to make us stop. It is written in plain words on purpose.

What we collect
- Your business's public Google listing. When you type your business name on our page, we read the listing Google already shows everyone: name, address, phone, hours, category, reviews and photos. We use it to build the website.
- What you type on your new website. When the website asks where to send the link, you give us a mobile phone number and an email address.
- Payment details, through Stripe. If you keep your website, Stripe takes your card. We see your name, email, phone, and that you paid. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical details, automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, rough location (city), the pages you open, and which ad brought you here. Our pages use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, which set cookies.
- What you send us. Texts, emails and replies you send to Web Friend.
What we use it for
- To build your website and keep it online.
- To text or email you the link to your website, a reminder before your free week ends, a notice when it has ended, and answers to your questions.
- To bill you if you keep the website, and to send receipts.
- To see whether our ads work, and to keep our pages from being abused.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your number or email for anything other than your website.
Text messages
When you enter your mobile number on your new website and tap Send me the link, you agree to receive text messages from Web Friend about your website. Message frequency varies, usually a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or text or call (323) 379-5251.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share, sell, rent or provide your mobile phone number or your texting consent to anyone for marketing. The only company that handles your number is the service that delivers our texts, and only to deliver them.
Emails
We email you from hello@webfriend.co about your website only. Reply with the word STOP, or write to us, and we stop. Receipts come from Stripe when you pay.
Who else sees it
We use a few companies to run Web Friend. They get only what they need to do their job for us, and they are not allowed to use it for their own marketing.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Twilio delivers our text messages.
- Google provides the business listing, sends our email, and runs Google Analytics on our pages.
- Cloudflare and Railway host the websites and our servers.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) runs our ads. To measure whether an ad worked, we tell Meta when someone who clicked an ad signed up or paid. For that, we send Meta a scrambled version of your email and phone number (a hash) that Meta can only match against its own records. Meta does not receive your number or email in readable form from us, and we never give either to anyone to market to you.
We also share information if the law requires it, or to protect Web Friend or someone's safety.
Cookies and tracking
Our pages use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel. These set cookies and may let Google and Meta see that you visited our pages, which they can connect with your activity on other sites under their own privacy policies. You can block cookies in your browser; our pages still work. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
How we protect it
Every page and every message to our servers travels encrypted. Only Web Friend's owner has access to the records, and the keys for every service are locked away and never published. Card numbers never touch our systems.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as your website is online, and for a reasonable time after, so we can answer questions and keep records of payments. Ask us and we delete your website and your details, except what the law makes us keep.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Reply STOP to any email, or write to us, to stop emails.
- Email hello@webfriend.co to see what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
- Ask us to take your website down at any time.
If you live in California, these same rights are yours under California law. We do not sell or share personal information for cross context advertising, and we never treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Web Friend is for business owners. Our pages are not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this page changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your number or email, we tell you by email first.
